CFForumsExpress Administration Section

Administration Overview

When you purchase and install CFForumsExpress you will have an example forums setup automatically. To change the Forum Groups, Forums, Categories and Topics, you will need to log in as a user with Administrator privledges.

The default Administrator login credentials are as follows:

Email Address: admin@cfforumsexpress.com
Password  : password

These credentials can be changed from the administration section by choosing Manage Users

Administration Tab

Once you have logged in as an Administrator, a new tab appears on the main navigation bar called Administration.

The left hand side of the screen will contain the main administration categories as follows:

    • Manage Users - Edit / Delete Users

    • Manage Administrators - Add/Edit/Delete Administrators 
  • LANGUAGE FILTERS
    • Filter Settings - Enable/Disable Language Filter. Change replacement type - Letters/Words
    • Filtered Words - Add/Edit/Delete Filtered Words

Managing CFForumsExpress & Basic Setup

The following is the order you need to set individual items up

  • Forum Groups
    First create some forum groups. These are simply groupings of similar forums
  • Forums
    You must then create seperate forums and assign them to forum groups
  • Categories
    You can create categories in each forum after you set up the forums above
  • Moderators
    Using the Forum Moderator section, you can assign users as moderators to one or more forums.

To make the administrators job easier, there are context specific Administration sections through-out the forum. For example, if you wish to add a category to a forum, simply browse to the forum in Administrator mode and an Add Category button will be available.
