Digital Crew Development BlogGet updates on Digital Crew products, tips on development and inside information on new components and software from Digital Crew. As many of you have noticed, things have been extremely quiet on the development announcement front. To be honest, we haven't posted here for ages! That is about to change.
After more than 5 weeks solid development work and lots of late nights and long programming, discussion and testing sessions, our new Top Secret Uber Project is just around the corner!
We have a number of people testing it behind closed doors at the moment and would like to invite people to submit themselves for an account.
This project will knock your socks off and will help you be more productive! More news coming soon.....
We have unleashed another powerful ColdFusion widget upon the World:
ProFlashDownload allows developers to make a list of files available for download to a user. These files will download with a progress bar and the developer can have a page called in the background when a file has completed downloading.
I was specifically asked to develop this component based on my existing work on ProFlashUpload.
Launch Demo
Just like ProFlashUpload, ProFlashDownload is highly customizable, easy-to-use and easy-to-program.
Sidenote: You would think that Flash programming is browser-i.....
I've been busily adding features to and improving existing features of TeamworkCMS.
Improved Header
Earlier today I came across a nice glass effect and header and thought "Nice!".. 5 minutes later TeamworkCMS is looking much better.
Add-ons can host other Add-Ons
For example, I updated the RADblog component that this very blog is using so that it can host other add-ons. I did this literally just minutes ago. I can now plug a gallery into any blog post.

Yes that's right, I said free. Completely, utterly, free!
All the power, rapid application development, dozens of powerful components, hundreds of features and years of works will be yours to do with as you wish - all for free. This includes all the powerful add-ons we have developed.
There will be the option for conscientious developers to purchase a license and eventually there may be add-ons that cost a few pounds to download and this is how we will make this pay off.
Teamwork Launch Date Set
One last thing - I've committed myself and Dan to launching TeamworkCMS to the world in 2 w.....
Plug-in Architecture
Recently we developed a powerful plug-in architecture for our Teamwork Content Management System that allows you to easily plug-in components such as an image gallery or News Item list into a page.
The beautiful thing about plug-ins is that there is no programming involved to embed them into your pages. They create whatever tables they need when you install them. They just work, magically.
Also when you plug-in a component to a web page in TeamworkCMS, the management interface for that webpage is extended to include any extra management options.
The plug-in inter.....
I've been giving out TeamworkCMS to a few good developers for their feedback. Richard Goldstein immediately asked why the Content Management System doesn't have a link to the website. A Glaring mistake on our part - I can believe in all the years that we've been using and developing this CMS, we never thought to put it in. And our customers never asked for it.
To add the link to the site in, I had to rework the Teamwork layout and add in a header frame.
PS. I'm spending this Saturday night developing a killer new plug-in for TeamworkCMS. I don't care if it takes 2 days, I'm not goin.....
